Aura receives competitor data from Seller Central whenever a competitor updates their price. This information acts as a "snapshot" of the most recent price changes. These updates are what trigger Aura to update your price based on your strategy settings.

The Replay system uses the last snapshot and "replays" it when you change your settings, without needing to wait for the next organic price change.
